Common Name:Rufous Horseshoe Bat
Type Locality:India, Pondicherry and Calcutta.
Distribution:Sri Lanka, peninsular India to S Burma and Vietnam. Reports of this species from Cambodia are likely erroneous; see Kock (2000a).
Status:IUCN 2003 and IUCN/SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:rouxii species group. Includes petersii; see Sinha (1973). Does not include sinicus; see Thomas (2000). Reviewed in part by Bates and Harrison (1997) and Horácek et al. (2000); revised by Thomas (2000). Sometimes spelled rouxi (e.g., Horácek et al., 2000; Koopman, 1993).
