Includes episcopus and hirsutus; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951), Tate (1943), Corbet and Hill (1992), and Bates and Harrison (1997), but also see Ingle and Heaney (1992), who suggested that hirsutus may deserve recognition as a distinct species.
