Common Name:Sumatran Water Shrew
Type Locality:Indonesia, Sumatra, "Pager Alam, Padang Highlands".
Distribution:Streams in tropical forest of Sumatra.
Status:IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Comments:Regarded as a race of phaeura by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1966:87), but considered distinct by Harrison (1958) and Gureev (1979), a view supported by its cranial anatomy.
