Common Name:Blackish Small-eared Shrew
Type Locality:Costa Rica, San José Province, San Isidro.
Distribution:Highlands above 800 m in Costa Rica and W Panama.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:C. nigrescens group. Choate (1970) included mayensis and merriami as subspecies, but see Woodman and Timm (1993) who revised the nigrescens group.
