Common Name:Howell's Forest Shrew
Type Locality:Tanzania, Uluguru Mtns, Morningside.
Distribution:Eastern Arc Mtns (Tanzania): W and E Usambara, Nguru and Uluguru Mtns (Stanley et al., 2000b).
Status:IUCN – Vulnerable.
Comments:Includes usambarensis, which may represent a distinct species; see Hutterer (1986b). However, the variation among the five populations has to be studied before taxonomic conclusions can be drawn.
