Common Name:Grauer's Large-headed Shrew
Type Locality:"Urwald hinter den Randbergen des Nord-Westufers des Tanganjika" = Sibatwa, 2,000 m, Itombwe Mtns, Dem. Rep. Congo.
Distribution:Known only from the type locality.
Status:IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Comments:Known only from the holotype which was collected in 1908. Like Myosorex schalleri, the species forms part of the endemic fauna of the Itombwe Mtns.
