Reviewed by Camacho et al. (1994). Unusual among capromyines in being sexually dimorphic. There are reports of the presence of M. angelcabrerai on the coast near Jucaró, but no confirmed specimens are known. This species and M. nanus are the two smallest hutias in Cuba. |
