Common Name:Goeldi’s Spiny-rat
Type Locality:Brazil, Pará, Santarem.
Distribution:Amazonian Brazil between Jamunda and Tapajoz Rivers, W Brazil.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Placed in the goeldii group by Patton (1987); Patton et al. (2000) included hyleae, leioprymna, and nesiotes. Karyotype has 2n=24 and FN=42 (Patton et al., 2000).
