Comments:The names langi and panga were considered synonyms of I. m. macrotis by Verheyen (1963:183); cansdalei was regarded as a subspecies by Hayman (1946:211) and by Verheyen (1963:183). In the second edition of this text, Dieterlen (1993) included kivuensis Lönnberg, 1917, by mistake in macrotis instead of including it in zenkeri, as was correctly done by Verheyen (1963:182).
