Common Name:Central Pebble-mound Pseudomys
Type Locality:Australia, C Northern Territory, Kurundi Station, Kurinelli Mine, 150 m (Kitchener, 1985, provided additional information); also Queensland west of the Great Dividing Range, from near Cloncurrys to Camooweal (Van Dyck, 1997, as potentially undescribed species).
Distribution:Australia; originally reported from small area in arid C Northern Territory (Kerle, 1995b:608; Kitchener, 1985:216). Recent discovery of P. johnsoni in Queensland highlights lack of detailed survey data for many parts of northern Australia.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Comments:Closest phylogenetic relative is apparently P. chapmani, which occurs in NW Western Australia (Kitchener, 1985).
