Chromosomal data (2n = 52, FN = 78) reported by Capanna et al. (1996a), Lavrenchenko et al. (1989), and Orlov and Bulatova (1997). Protein variation in geographic samples documented by Milishnikov et al. (1992), and spermatozoal morphology described by Baskevich and Lavrenchenko (1995). Reviewed as an Ethiopian endemic by Yalden and Largen (1992, as a Pelomys). Distribution is allopatric to D. yaldeni (Lavrenchenko, 2003). |
