Common Name:Koopman’s Pencil-tailed Tree Mouse
Type Locality:Indonesia, Kepulauan Mentawai, Pulau Pagai Utara.
Distribution:Known only from Pagai (Musser, 1979), and Siberut (Jenkins and Hill, 1982) in the Mentawai Isls.
Status:IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:The largest in body size of any described Chiropodomys, and possibly most closely related to C. major. Part of the rodent fauna endemic to the Mentawai Arch. (see account of Leopoldomys siporanus).
