Common Name:Mackilligin’s Dipodil
Type Locality:Egypt, Wadi Alagi, E desert of Nubia.
Distribution:E desert of S Egypt (see Osborn and Helmy, 1980) and probably adjacent Sudan.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Gerbillus mackillingini.
Comments:Subgenus Petteromys. Although some authors have placed this species with D. nanus (Corbet, 1978c; Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951; F. Petter, 1975b), Osborn and Helmy (1980) demonstrated its specific distinction. Reviewed by Pavlinov et al. (1990).
