Common Name:Long-tailed Singing Mouse
Type Locality:Panamá, Chiriquí Prov., Volcán de Chiriquí, 10,300 ft (3139 m).
Distribution:High elevations in Cordilleras Central and Talamancae of Costa Rica to Volcán Chiriquí region in W Panamá.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Hooper (1972) synonymized harrisi and longipilosus, forms described as species, under S. xerampelinus and deemed the intraspecific variation as insufficient to retain subspecies.
