Common Name:Lovat’s African Climbing Mouse
Type Locality:Ethiopia, Managasha, near Addis Ababa.
Distribution:Ethiopian Plateau, 2500-3550 m (Rupp, 1980).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Comments:The type species of Chortomys, reviewed as an Ethiopian endemic by Yalden and Largen (1992) and Yalden et al. (1996). A grassland species differing from other Dendromus in its terrestrial habits (Yalden, 1988; Yalden et al., 1976); sample statistics of external measurements provided by Sillero-Zubiri et al. (1995a).
