Type Locality:"Tipton, San Joachin Valley [Tulare Co.], California [USA]."
Distribution:San Joaquin Valley (S California, USA).
Status:May now be restricted to southern half of its former range (Hafner, 1981). IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:Most closely related to interpres (Hafner, 1981). Reviewed by Best et al. (1990d, Mammalian Species No. 367).
