Common Name:Asian Red-cheeked Squirrel
Type Locality:Burma, Tenasserim, Mt. Mooleyit.
Distribution:NE India, N and C Burma; Anhui, Hunan, Guangxi and Yunnan (China), Laos, south through Vietnam, Thailand, peninsular Malaysia.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Formerly included pyrrhomerus; but see Moore and Tate (1965), and comments under D. pyrrhomerus. Chromosomes described by Nadler and Hoffmann (1970).
