Common Name:Prevost's Squirrel
Type Locality:Malaysia, Malacca Prov., "Settlement of Malacca."
Distribution:Peninsular Thailand to Sumatra, Borneo, and adjacent small islands; N Sulawesi. Musser (1987a) considered the population in Sulawesi as introduced.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Reviewed by Corbet and Hill (1992:289-90). Formerly included baluensis; but the two are often sympatric (Payne et al., 1985). Heaney (1978) discussed body size variation in this species. Oshida et al. (1996b) described chromosomes.
