Type Locality:Venezuela, Esmeralda.
Distribution:Cordillera Oriental, Colombia to Venezuela and N Peru.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Vulnerable.
Comments:Does not include hybridus or marginatus (Groves, 2001c).
