SPECIES Echymipera kalubu

Author:Fischer, 1829.
Citation:Synopsis Mammal.: 274.
Common Name:Common Echymipera
Type Locality:Indonesia, Prov. of Papua (= Irian Jaya), Sorong Div., Waigeo Isl.
Distribution:New Guinea and adjacent small islands including Bismarck Arch., Yapen, Biak-Supiori, Waigeo, Misool and Salawati Isls.

Comments:The name kalubu has been attributed to Lesson, 1828, Dict. Class. Hist. Nat., 13:200; but see Husson (1955:290). According to Westerman et al.
