Type Locality:Australia, Northern Territory, Lake Amadeus.
Distribution:Australia: SW Northern Territory (vicinity of Ayers Rock) and Eyre Peninsula (South Australia).
Status:CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:S. psammophila species-group. Known only from five specimens; see Archer (1981:215).
