Common Name:Wallace’s Dasyure
Type Locality:Aru Isl.
Distribution:Southern New Guinea and Aru Isls (Indonesia).
Status:Unknown, but rare.
Comments:Usually considered a subspecies of M. melas, but separated as a species by Archer (1982:417), and molecular data suggest that they may have separated several million years ago (Krajewski et al., 1997a).
