Student Workshops and Training 2003-2004

 

All workshops and training sessions are held in Roberts Hall, Room 200 G. Refreshments are provided. Call 577-3141 to reserve a space.

Spring 2004:

Personal Statement Workshop — Wednesday, February 25, 6-7 p.m.

Writing the Medical School Personal Statement — Wednesday, March 3, 6-7 p.m.

Fall 2003:

Resume and Cover Letter Workshop — Wednesday, September 17, 5-6 p.m.

Honors/Master’s Thesis Proposal Workshop — Wednesday, October 1, 5-6 p.m.

Personal Statement Workshop — Wednesday, October 29, 5-6 p.m.

Training for Writing Tutors

UNIV 239: “Working with Writers”
This course, offered each spring semester, prepares students to be tutors in the Writing Center.

A four-week intensive, non-credit tutor training course is offered periodically, usually in the fall semester. For more information, call or stop by the Writing Center.

 

Training for Math and Science Tutors

Writing Center Tutoring Program (WCTP)
WCTP tutor training is offered on a Saturday afternoon early in each semester. Those who successfully complete this training are then offered employment in the Writing Center Tutoring Program for introductory mathematics and science courses. An application and faculty recommendations are required. Call or stop by the Writing Center for more information.
