Lina Gorchakova


Lina GorchakovaLina Gorchakova, the Bucknell language assistant for 1996-1997, grew up in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. She completed high school there, specializing in mathematics and humanities. Ms. Gorchakova's completed her undergraduate degree in English and comparative literature at Moscow State University (MGU). After that she taught English at the Moscow University of Engineering. She has also worked for several years as an interpreter for several US and British travel agencies. While working for Kola Salmon, Ltd. in Moscow, Lina was the personal guide and interpreter for Ted Turner and Jane Fonda during their stay in Moscow.

Currently Lina is a graduate student at MGU where she is a PhD candidate in English. She has published two scholarly papers. 'Christopher Marlow's Creative Work and the Blank Verse of English Drama' was publihsed in the proceedings of the Annual Conference of Young Scholars by MGU Press. 'Syntactic Rhythmic Organization of the King James Bible' appeared in the Proceedings of the Conference 'Akhmatova Readings', also published in Moscow.
