1965 Main Desk
This photograph shows the main desk in the lobby of the library, which was located just inside the main entrance of the library. This was the circulation desk. The stacks behind the desk contained books which had been placed on reserved reading for various courses This photograph was taken from the mezzanine landing of the main staircase of the library. At the right of the desk was the main entrance to the library and the card catalog. Beyond the circulation desk on the left was the periodical reading room ( not visible in the photograph ). The windows in the photograph faced the academic quadrangle.
