School term

The school term is the period of time between the opening of the public schools in the fall of one year and the closing of the schools in the spring of the following year. Public kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools must be kept open each school year for a minimum of 180 days of instruction for students in accordance with 22 Pa. Code §11.1.
