School nurse
In Article XIV of the Public School Code, "School Health Services", a school nurse is defined as a licensed registered nurse who is properly certified by the Department of Education as a school nurse and who is employed by a school district or joint school board or by another county or municipal health entity to provide school nurse services to children of school age. Health services that are to be provided to children of school age are described in 24 PS § 14-1402.
In Chapter 23 "School Health" of Title 28 Pa Code in §23.34 the school nurse is described:
The duties of school nurses shall be those assigned by the school district or joint school board which are exclusively connected with medical and dental school health activities. The technical content of the duties of the nurse shall be those prescribed by the Department of Health.
