Annulment of certificate
The Secretary of Education may annul a professional certificate or letter of eligibility, which was obtained by fraud or mistake. Such a certificate or commission is considered void ab initio. Prior to the annulment, there must be prior notice and hearing in accordance with reasonable procedures as prescribed by the Secretary. See 22 PA Code §49.64a(a). Annulment prohibits the person from teaching or engaging in other professional services in the Commonwealth.
