Age for (of) beginners

This is the age at which a school board must permit a child to attend the school district's first grade. The school board may not require a child of beginner's age to attend a kindergarten, prefirst grade, transitional class or any other grade that is not the regular first grade without obtaining parental consent. The school board establishes this minimum entry age, "which may not be less than a chronological age of 5 years and 7 months before September 1 nor more than 6 years no months before the first day of the school term of the district."
