1985 Athletic Field
This is the Award Ceremony and Pass in Review that was held on the former North Athletic Field in 1986. This field was located between Davis Gymnasium and the tennis courts next to South Seventh Street. It was used for soccor and lacrosse. In the summer of 1977, floodlights were installed on the field, two sets of which are visible in the background. The roof of the university center is visible behind one of these floodlight poles to the upper left in the photo. Just at the base of the other pole is the movable scorekeepers booth that was used for athletic contests (to the upper right in the photograph). A scoreboard was attached to the side of the Freas-Rooke Swimming Pool building that faced the athletic field.
