In 1966-1967, Taylor Street House was remodeled into offices for the Education Department, and used for special projects financed by state, federal, and local funds. Project SESAME was located here. In 1972, the building was remodeled and renovated for u se as a dormitory for 15 men.

In 1985, Taylor Street House was moved to St. George Street as part of the Seventh Street project, which led to the construction of Smith Hall. It was used to house students until the new dormitory was completed.
