In 1981, the deteriorating fountain and brick flower boxes,
located on the terrace which forms the top of Freas Hall, were
rebuilt. The building continued to house the Director of Admissions
and his staff. In 1985, 6,279 people applied for admission to the university. Of these applicants, 2,706 were offered admission; of those offered admission, 819 enrolled. Women constituted forty-six percent of the freshman class. Approximately three percent of the freshmen were minority students. |
