In 1977, the two art studios in the attic of the building had been converted into classrooms. On May 28 of the same year, the Wayne E. Manning Herbarium on the second floor was dedicated, including a commemorative plaque. Dr. Manning, Professor of Biolo gy from 1945 to 1968, had expanded the University's collection of botanical specimens after his arrival in November, 1945.

In 1985-86, the Psychological Services moved from the Botany Building to Lowry House.
