From 1927 to 1955, the building at 503 St. George Street, known as Wolfe House, was used by the Music Department. In 1955, the building was renovated for use as a dormitory for 36 women and renamed Carey House, in honor of Anna R. Carey who was Dean of Women fr om 1919 to 1925. The Music Department moved to the Music and Art Building. In 1956, the building was refurbished, and new equipment was added at a cost of $50,915.00. The building was used as a women's dormitory in the 1960's.
