ld Main remains
This photograph was taken from the Carnegie Library some time after the fire destroyed the center part of Old Main and damaged the two wings. More damage was done to the west wing of the building than to the east, where the fire escape is still attached to the building. The south wall of the front of the center part of the building,which had extended into the quadrangle, had been removed when this photograph was taken. Note the thickness of the interior wall for the first two floors ( to the rear ). The commencement hall had been located on the third floor.
