Christy Mathewson was the center of the Bucknell basketball team, which played its games in Tustin Gym. Matty is in the center of the third row.

In 1900, the basketball team had a 6-3 record with wins over Danville, Dickinson (twice), Cornell, Bloomsburg, and State College. Bucknell was defeated by Bloomsburg, Pittston, and State College. The season began on January 12 and ended on March 5. The team was coached by a student.
