ustin Gymnasium

This photograph of the interior of Tustin Gymnasium shows the running gallery, which surrounded the gymnasium. This photograph, which was taken from the front of the building next to Loomis field, shows the two sides and rear of the gym. Note the gymnastic equipment set up on the floor, including mats, horses, and parallel bars.. During the day, light was provided by the many windows located on all four sides of the building. Some lighting fixtures are visible at the top of the photograph attached to the rafters. In 1915, during the heating season, electricity for the lights was provided by power from the Physical Laboratory, located just to the rear of the gym.

In 1915, the basketball team achieved a 5-11 record, which included eight home games in Tustin Gym. The season began on January 8 with a home game against Bloomsburg State Normal School and ended on March 3, with an away game at Syracuse. Bucknell played two games with Muhlenburg, Susquehanna, Gettysburg and Albright that season. Bucknell defeated Bloomsburg, Susquehanna, Lafayette (in overtime), Lebanon Valley, and Juniata. Bucknell was defeated by Muhlenburg, Gettysburg, Albright, Susquehanna, the Harrisburg Y.M.C.A, Mount Saint Mary's, Lancaster, and Syracuse.
