Dale's Cave

exterior

The boys who attended the academy were taken on field trips to various local attractions, one of which was a cave located on Dale's Ridge on a farm approximately two miles from Lewisburg. In this photograph, which was taken some time before 1915, boys from the academy sit at the entrance to Dale's Cave.

The boys explored the cave under adult supervision. In fact, an interior view of the cave was used in a pamphlet which was used to recruit boys to the academy in the early part of the twentieth century.
