Type Locality:"Prom. B. Spei" (Cape of Good Hope); restricted to South Africa, south-eastern Cape Prov. [eastern part of Western Cape Prov.] by Grubb (1999:36).
Distribution:Angola, Botswana, N Central African Republic, S Chad, SE Dem. Rep. Congo, Djibouti, N Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Somalia (extinct?), South Africa, W and E Sudan, NE Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (cd).
