Type Locality:"Kachar region" [Nepal].
Distribution:Burma, S and E China, Indochinese peninsula, Nepal, N Pakistan.
Status:CITES – Appendix III (India); IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Abramov (1999) placed kathiah in the subgenus Gale. Synonmys allocated according to Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951).
