Common Name:Dent's Shrew
Type Locality:Dem. Rep. Congo, Ituri Forest, between Mawambi and Avakubi.
Distribution:African Congo Basin (Dem. Rep. Congo, Gabon, Cameroon) and isolated records in West Africa (Guinea, Sierra Leone).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Considered a distinct species by Heim de Balsac (1959:216). It remains to be determined whether the West African records (Ziegler et al., 2002) are conspecific.
