Common Name:Ethiopian Highland Hare
Type Locality:"Jeldu-Liban-Shoa, 2,740 mtres, 40 km W. Addis Abeba," [Ethiopia].
Distribution:Central highlands of Ethiopia.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Eulagos (Averianov, 1998). Formerly included in capensis (Petter, 1963a), or europaeus (Azzaroli-Puccetti, 1987a, b); but see Angermann (1983) and Flux and Angermann (1990). Considered by Azzaroli-Puccetti (1987a, b) to be closely related to europaeus, with a relict distribution dating back to the Pleistocene.
