Common Name:Reddish-backed Thomasomys
Type Locality:Perú, Cajamarca Dept., Río Malleta, Tambillo, 5800 ft (1768 m).
Distribution:Andes of S Ecuador and NW Perú.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Morphology redescribed and additional specimens reported by Pine (1980b). Tirira (1999) listed auricularis as a valid species.
