Common Name:Capricorn Pericote
Type Locality:Argentina, Jujuy Prov., Tilcara, 8000 ft (2438 m).
Distribution:Upper slopes of E Andes, about 2100-3750 m, from SC Bolivia to northernmost Argentina.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Demoted to a subspecies of P. darwini by Hershkovitz (1962), but distributional and morphological evidence substantiates the specific recognition of P. caprinus (Pearson, 1958).
