Common Name:Desmarest’s Pilorie
Type Locality:West Indes, Lesser Antilles, Martinique.
Distribution:Known only from Martinique.
Status:IUCN – Extinct.
Comments:As compared with M. luciae (BMNH, the holotype), the cranium of M. desmarestii (BMNH, is generally larger in all dimensions, its m3 larger relative to m2, and the upper incisors yellowish-orange instead of plain orange.
