Common Name:Puno Akodont
Type Locality:Perú, Puno Dept., drainage of Río Inambari, Limbani, 9000 ft (2743 m).
Distribution:E Andean upper slopes, about 2000-4500 m, from SC Perú (Puno) to WC Bolivia (Cochabamba) (see Anderson, 1997:Fig. 717; Patton and Smith, 1992:Fig. 3).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Akodon, A. boliviensis species group (Myers et al., 1990). Described as a subspecies of A. boliviensis; raised to specific level and another subspecies named by Myers et al. (1990).
