Author: | Thomas, 1916. | Citation: | Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 8, 18: 335. | Common Name: | White-throated Akodont | Type Locality: | Argentina, Tucumán Prov., San Pablo, Villa Nouges, 1200 m. | Distribution: | E lower Andean slopes, 650-2400 m, from SC Bolivia (Tarija; Anderson, 1997) to NW Argentina (Jujuy to Catamarca; Mares et al., 1997; Ortiz et al., 2000a). | Status: | IUCN – Lower Risk (lc). | Comments: | Subgenus Akodon, A. varius species group (Myers, 1989). Karyology and morphometrics reviewed, as A. varius, by Bárquez et al. (1980); age variation in a large Argentinian sample analysed by Eschevarria (1995). |
