Common Name:Long-clawed Mole Vole
Type Locality:Georgia (Gruzinskaya), Caucasus Mtns, Gudaur, S of Krestovyi Pass, 6500 ft (as given by Ognev, 1963b).
Distribution:Alpine zone of Caucasus Mtns, Georgia, and extreme NE Turkey (E Black Sea Mtns; Kryštufek and Vohralík, 2001).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Cranial and dental morphology detailed by Hinton (1926a); chromosomal data summarized by Zima and Kral (1984a); karyotype in sample from NE Turkey reported by Colak et al. (1999).
