Common Name:Lesser Tufted-tailed Rat
Type Locality:Madagascar, Fianarantsoa Prov., Ampitambe.
Distribution:Humid forests of E Madagascar, near sea level to 1875 m.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Co-occurs regionally with most other species of Eliurus. Extensive size variation and broad altitudinal occurrence suggest a species composite.
