Common Name:Cherrie’s Pocket Gopher.
Type Locality:Costa Rica, Limón Prov., Santa Clara.
Distribution:NC Costa Rica (see Hafner and Hafner, 1987; Hafner, 1991).
Status:IUCN – Lowered Risk (nt).
Comments:Subgenus Macrogeomys. Revised by Goodwin (1946). Phylogeography examined by Demastes et al. (1996). May include matagalpae (M. S. Hafner, pers. comm.).
